Linux is the Answer

Check out OCLUG (Orange County Linux Users Group) and SRCLUG and Cerritos LUG (Expired), people who have helped me tremendously with Linux.

For a long time, I ran this webserver on a machine behind a firewall (also running Linux). The firewall provides a single network address for use by all computers on my internal network (called NAT or Network Address Translation--Linux people will also call it masquerading). To see the basic theory of a masqueraded system, click here. This is easily accomplished by my firewall script. Check it and a few other utilities that I use by going to my linux downloads section. These can also be found (along with descriptions) at www.freshmeat.net.

I ran some tests of various filesystems. Here are the results in HTML format and in OpenOffice.org format.

I also have a couple of sites that I do to "return to the community". Looking at the left hand links, I am a public mirror for the Bluefish html editor and for the RPMHelp repository. I also mirror a page of tips and rants from the great Rick Moen. Please use these!
